How Halo works

Communities don’t struggle because people stop caring. They struggle because care is fragmented and difficult to coordinate. Halo removes that friction by giving communities the infrastructure to connect, organize, and support one another.

Halo helps turn neighbors from bystanders into participants by making it easier to discover needs, offer support, and build meaningful connections within the neighborhood. As more Halos and Havens join, the network grows, expanding the community’s ability to support itself. The more connected the network becomes, the stronger the neighborhood becomes.

    A short survey. Safety questions come first. This is not an emergency hotline; we help connect neighbors to build communities and route local resources to those in need.

    Havens, Halos, resources, and crowd-verified events in your neighborhood. Filter by category, distance, needs, and community.

    Connect under a name you choose

    You appear as a friendly pseudonym like “Rose Bridge 284.” Messaging stays in-app until you decide otherwise.

    Requests move through clear states and close out. No streaks, no leaderboards, no pressure to perform your kindness.

Care without surveillance

Our platform allows for anyone to rise to the call. The more we come together the stronger the community.

  • Opt-in location, always

    No live tracking, and temporary access-enabled location data expires quickly.

  • Pseudonymous by default

    Legal identity and verification documents are never requested. Home addresses are never shared. You can sign in with a generated username or your email address.

  • Documentation

    Tools to generate incident reports for law enforcement and local representatives. Never used as a tool of accusation, but to help with proper documentation.

  • Least data possible

    We collect the minimum needed to connect two neighbors, and you can revoke and delete what you have shared.
